Plixer Replicator UDP Flow Replication and Network Visibility Tool 1 year of 3-year subscription

Product code: PLX-REP-3Y

Plixer Replicator is a UDP replication tool that duplicates and forwards UDP based metadata, including NetFlow, IPFIX, and syslog, from exporting devices to multiple collectors. It operates at the flow level rather than the packet level, which reduces overhead and protects network performance.

This approach allows multiple platforms to receive synchronized telemetry without requiring routers, switches, or firewalls to manage multiple export streams.

The teams managing network equipment, servers, and monitoring tools are often different groups. By using Plixer Replicator all device and server configuration is consistent sending UDP datagrams to the replicator host. Configuring the destination of those UDP streams is done in one place through a powerful and intuitive UI.

In addition to streamlined configuration workflows, Plixer replicator provides vitals reports and alarms on UDP packet sources, destinations, and rates. Alarms provide immediate insight into new sources coming online and sources going away.

Why choose Plixer Replicator?

  • Source IP preservation — collectors and SIEMs see traffic as coming directly from the originating device, not from Replicator, so tools that query back to the source via SNMP keep working correctly.
  • Built for scale — receives UDP at wire speed, with documented performance handling over 500+ exporting devices.
  • One tool, every UDP protocol — NetFlow, IPFIX, sFlow, syslog and SNMP traps are all replicated and distributed through a single appliance.
  • Syslog-to-IPFIX conversion — turns unstructured, proprietary syslog into standardised IPFIX for faster queries and more future-proof tooling.
  • Resilient by design — deterministic packet forwarding automatically detects and skips unreachable destinations, with built-in alerts for stream stoppages and high CPU utilisation.
  • Simplifies network configuration — devices export once to Replicator; adding or changing monitoring and security tools doesn’t mean reconfiguring routers, switches or firewalls.
  • Flexible deployment — virtual appliance, dedicated hardware, or cloud (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, OCI), with a headless option for added capacity or high availability.

Technical specification

  • Platform
Plixer Replicator — a dedicated UDP flow and log replication/distribution appliance that augments Scrutinizer and Plixer One deployments
  • Subscription term
3-year subscription, billed annually — this listing covers Year 1
  • Protocols supported
NetFlow (v5/v9), IPFIX, sFlow, syslog, SNMP traps and other UDP-based telemetry
  • Source IP preservation
Replaces only the destination IP on forwarded frames — the original source device's IP is kept intact, so collectors and SIEMs see traffic as coming directly from the originating device (important for tools that query back to the source via SNMP)
  • Throughput
Receives UDP at wire speed; documented handling over 500+ exporting devices
  • Format conversion
Converts unstructured syslog data into standardised IPFIX, enabling faster queries and more future-proof downstream tooling
  • Reliability & alerting
Deterministic packet forwarding automatically detects unreachable destinations and pauses replication to them; built-in alerts for stream stoppage and high CPU utilisation; exports its own operational statistics as IPFIX
  • Redundancy & resilience
Distributes flow and log data across multiple monitoring and security tools simultaneously, supporting continuous visibility, disaster recovery and tamper resistance (no single point of failure or erasure)
  • Deployment
Virtual appliance (VMware ESXi 6.7 U2+, Hyper-V 2012+ Generation 2, KVM 16+, Nutanix, Proxmox), cloud (AWS Marketplace, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure), or dedicated hardware appliance for extremely high-volume environments
  • Minimum system requirements
2 CPU cores at 2.0GHz+, 8GB RAM, 100GB 15K RAID 0/10 storage (virtual appliance, production deployment)
  • Headless option
Deployable without the web interface for added replication capacity or high-availability configurations, managed via a remote administrative instance
  • Typical use cases
Redundant multi-tool distribution without reconfiguring source devices; disaster recovery; expanding monitoring/security infrastructure without touching router, switch or firewall export configuration; augmenting existing Scrutinizer or Plixer One deployments
