Both blade centres (AI1000 & AI2000) are a 7U, 19” blade enclosures housing up to either 10 or 14 server blades supporting both current and next generation Intel Xeon and AMD Opteron processing platforms. Powering these blades are up to 4 x 2500W PSU units working in an N+1 failover configuration, supplying up to 7.5KW for high-demand quad CPU blades. Management is performed via Supermicro’s blade centre management module providing total control of all blades, PSUs and add-in modules.
As we are all aware, networking Infrastructure is a critical component of any blade system and we are glad to highlight that the Boston AI blades offer the latest high-speed interconnects available. Basic Ethernet networking is facilitated by either one or two 20-port or 28-port Gigabit Ethernet switch modules. Beyond this, a 24-port InfiniBand (4x DDR) switch is available for ultra-high performance. In addition, a 10Gb Ethernet infrastructure will be offered very soon.
